When we look at the Nation of Edom and the damages done throughout the scriptures they build a road map for who they are today. A Nation who lives by the sword. Lets get an understanding but first, We will uncover his lineage throughout the ages moving within the pages of our Holy Scriptures.
And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she wasbarren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
23. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and The Elder shall serve the younger. We see that the Lord set this up from the beginning. ( so the birthright is for the Younger child ) you can't steal what's already yours.
Genesis 25:24. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25. And the first came out Red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. So we see the younger child is Jacob which ultimately inherited the blessing. But Esau received a blessing as well.
Genesis 27:38. And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. 39. And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; 40. And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. 41. And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
Genesis 36:1. Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.
8. Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom. 9. And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir: 11. And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz. 12. And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.
15 These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz, 16. Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.
31. And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel. so we see Esau dealt with setting up Kings.
The Amalek King
1 Samuel15:5. And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley. 7. And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. 8. And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
Agag the king of the Amalekites
1 Samuel 15:9. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
Agag The Edomite
Esther 3:1. After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.
Esther 16.4. in the Apocrypha in this chapter we see the Lewd behavior of Edom infiltrate the Medo- persian empire but more importantly we start to see a clear picture of how the persians viewed Edom 4. And take not only thankfulness away from among men, but also lifted up with the glorious words of lewd persons, that were never good, they think to escape the justice of God, that seeth all things and hateth evil. 5 Oftentimes also fair speech of those, that are put in trust to manage their friends' affairs, hath caused many that are in authority to be partakers of innocent blood, and hath enwrapped them in remediless calamities: 6 Beguiling with the falsehood and deceit of their lewd disposition the innocency and goodness of princes. 7 Now ye may see this, as we have declared, not so much by ancient histories, as ye may, if ye search what hath been wickedly done of late through the pestilent behaviour of them that are unworthily placed in authority.
